Carrie Bates is the Statistics Consultant for A+ College Ready.  She has served as the A+ CR Statistics Consultant since 2013, taught AP Statistics for eight years, and taught mathematics for the past twenty years.

She and her husband, Jack Jr., and currently live in Huntsville, Alabama and have two children, Jack III (8) and Caroline (4).  She is a native of Huntsville, Alabama and graduated from Grissom High School in 1993.  She received her BS degree in Mathematics from Birmingham-Southern College (1997) and her graduate degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham (2000). In 2005, she became a National Board Certified teacher and then renewed that certification in 2014. 

She has been an AP Statistics reader and has taught the AP Statistics course to new teachers for the past two summers (2015, 2016).  This summer, she will continue to teach the AP Statistics course for new teachers at The University of Alabama.  During the four-day workshop, she will balance covering the course in its entirety with meeting the needs of the participants in the course. She will also integrate pedagogy and technology (computers and TI-84 or TI-Inspire calculators) throughout the week. She loves working with teachers who are new to AP Statistics and looks forward to meeting you all this summer!
