Meet the Instructors

Powell Davis

Powell DavisPowell is a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor with over 15 years of data networking experience.  He is also a certified CCNA, CCNP, CCSP, and CCDP.  Currently working on his CCIE in Route and Switch, he has passed the CCIE written exam. 

Having designed, implemented and supported diverse networks from small business LANs to wide area networks spanning multiple states, Powell’s experience ranges from PIX/ASA VPN and firewall implementation, Catalyst 2950’s through 6500 series switches, 3600 series to 7600 series routers and the Nexus class of datacenter switches. 

He brings to the classroom his real world network experiences with technologies such as EIGRP, OSPF, VSS, BGP, MPLS, EIGRP, and GRE. Powell currently works as a network engineer at The University of Alabama.



Mark Russo

Marc Russo

Marc Russo is a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor with over 22 years of data networking experience.  He has designed, implemented and supported diverse networks from small business LANs to large enterprise sized corporate networks.  Marc’s experiences range from Catalyst 2950’s up to the 6500 series switches, 7600 series routers and the Nexus class of datacenter switches. 

To the classroom, Marc brings his real world network experiences with technologies such as wireless, OSPF, VSS, BGP, MPLS, Spanning Tree and Ethernet just to name a few. 

Marc has taught various Cisco and network management classes for the past 13 years and works daily as a network engineer on a large enterprise Cisco network.
