Certification levels recognized worldwide
Crimson Sigma participants may work toward either a Green Belt certificate or a Black Belt certificate. The Green Belt certificate requires a total of 10 workshop days (2 separate weeks). For a Black Belt, 20 workshop days (4 separate weeks) are required.
The Green Belt Certificate Program enables team members to implement the 5 steps of DMAIC process improvement (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) and also enhances group facilitation skills. Participants bring an improvement project from their own department so they can apply Crimson Sigma methodology to a real-world situation.
An exam at the end of each week assesses how well each participant has mastered the techniques. All participants must also present and defend a completed project in order to earn certification.
The Black Belt Certificate Program provides more in-depth instruction in DMAIC, as well as leadership skills for those whose responsibilities include the oversight of process-rich areas. Candidates must complete a Six Sigma Black Belt Application Project, chosen from an area of their own department that would benefit from Crimson Sigma techniques. The instructor will approve and facilitate the project; participants must complete and defend it in order to become certified.
