State of Alabama Insurance Testing

The University of Alabama, College of Continuing Studies and the State Department of Insurance have joined together to provide online registration for insurance producers and adjusters computerized licensing exam. Locations include: Huntsville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Mobile and Gadsden.  The State of Alabama Department of Insurance is responsible for regulating the insurance industry in the State of Alabama.  The Department of Insurance oversees and serves more than 67,000 licensees and processes approximately 180,000 applications of one type or another per year.  This web site contains information on insurance licensing, application procedures, registration for examination(s) and the issuance of licenses. 

Adjusters/Agents/Producers - The Person taking the exam should review the requirements, regulations, and procedures at the left before beginning the registration process.  Please note, the person taking the test should register themselves.  You should not register someone else. 

 

*Notice: Due to an interruption in registration and credit card services, we will not take any registrations on July 6th and 7th.  Also, if you are planning to take your exam on July 13th or 14th, you must register for these test dates by July 3rd at 3:30 p.m.

*Effective April 1, 2015, all individual resident applicants seeking to become licensed as Producers, Adjusters or Title Agents must have completed a Fingerprint background check. You should seek to get fingerprinted after passing the state exam and one day before applying for the license.
