This workshop will take place on Friday, June 29, 2018, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Bryant Conference Center on the campus of The University of Alabama.
This all day workshop describes how to apply professional wisdom to process and address difficult situations unique to the work environments of the participants. The speaker will discuss how to understand and address the impact of psychological trauma in a variety of formats, including emotional dysregulation, hypervigilance, avoidance, control and trust. The workshop will increase participants’ understanding of how to maintain self-awareness and connection during challenging encounters. It will also provide assurance and help to reframe negative self-assumptions following emotionally challenging work experiences. By the end of the workshop, participants will be prepared to improve communication and support between all members of the team and actuate an empowered model of compassionate self and peer care.
