Coaching

As a participant in the Workplace Coaching Academy, leaders will learn to use coaching as a powerful tool for empowering themselves and others to create a future where they are more inspired, motivated and productive.

Coaching is a partnership designed to support personal growth and leadership development. Coaching provides clarity, direction and a more focused progression toward personal fulfillment and professional goals. Through coaching, leaders learn to leverage their own abilities to create a lasting change that positively affects their level of influence and credibility.

Workplace Coaching

Part 1 - The Coaching Clinic

The Coaching Clinic® is a two-day leadership program designed to train managers, executives, leaders and supervisors to use a coach approach in leading people.  In this workshop, you’ll learn and practice coaching skills that can be applied competently and confidently in work situations to gain immediate benefits.

Objectives:

  • Learn how to create a “coachable moment"
  • Learn and practice the coaching conversation model
  • Examine the ICF "core competancies"
  • Build the following core coaching skills:

                 ---Discovery Questions
                 ---Listening
                 ---Messaging
                 ---Acknowledging

  • Identify personal shifts needed to adopt a coach approach

Pre-Work:

  • Read “Coaching in the Workplace article
  • Complete Coaching Session Worksheet

Post-Work:

  • Record one coaching call with a client for review and feedback from a certified coach.  These coaching feedback sessions will be logged and documented for those pursing coach credentials through the International Coach Federation. 

Part 2 - Leadership & Life Coaching for the Individual

This two-day course will focus on coaching the individual to create unprecedented results in all areas of their life.  Participants will learn coaching tools and techniques primarily by being coached themselves.  Several key distinctions and tools will be discussed and practiced.  Participants will receive two individual coaching sessions. Participants will also be expected to record one coaching call with a client for review and feedback.

Objectives:

  • Understand, identify and use ICF Core Competencies
  • Learn fundamental coaching tools and distinctions
  • Practice coaching tools and distinctions
  • Receive 1:1 coaching and create personal results
  • Receive feedback on coaching with an actual client

Pre-Work:

  • Complete the Myers Briggs Type Indicator assessment
  • Complete “Personal Data Gathering” exercise
  • Review the ICF Core Competencies

Part 3 - Workplace Performance Coaching - Essential Conversations for Developing Others®

Build coaching skills to a greater level of expertise by applying coaching confidently in development conversations.  Participants of Essential Conversations for Developing Others® will raise their coaching skills by learning how to initiate conversations about sensitive issues, carrying them through with confidence, sensitivity and integrity.

Objectives:

  • Build coaching skills to a greater level of expertise by applying coaching confidently in development conversations
  • Build competence in advance coaching skills
  • Increase your skills to engage in courageous coaching conversations
  • Increase understanding of different learning styles and how these styles affect leadership development

Pre-Work:

  • Complete the “Development Mindset” Exercise

Post-Work:

  • Record one coaching call with a client for review and feedback from a certified coach.  These coaching feedback sessions will be logged and documented for those pursing coach credentials through the International Coach Federation. 

Part 4 - Strategic Executive Coaching - Coaching to Lead Strategically

In today’s fast paced environment, it is critical for key people at any level of an organization to have the skills to lead strategically.  This course will cover the complexities of strategic coaching, utilizing a systems approach, for obtaining desired rapid results often demanded in a corporate environment.  You will gain strategic coaching skills through individual learning, group discussion, and experiential exercises using up-to-date resources.  You will gain invaluable insights from taking and using a workplace behavioral assessment.  To ensure relevancy, the class will discuss some of the specific challenges facing leaders today.  In other words, you will have a much clearer idea of what to do when you get “the call” for help. Bottom-line, strategic coaching is an invaluable tool for being a successful leader in today’s workplace, whether you are coaching your team or department, or coaching others to expand and improve their leadership skills.  This is a life changing course.

Objectives:

  • To explain how to use coaching tools to lead strategically
  • To explore a systems approach for a successful coaching environment
  • To gain self-awareness and understanding of the impact of behavioral styles
  • To experience coaching through active participation
  • Review the ICF Core Competencies

Pre-Work:

  • Complete the DISC Behavioral and Workplace Motivators Assessment

As a bonus, after completing the Workplace Coaching Academy, two individual coaching sessions will be offered to each participate to gain even greater traction in creating positive change within their organization. In addition, participants are eligible for one FREE World Business Executive Coaching Summit recording of a session of their choice from 50+ coaching sessions of the coaching masters from the 2012 WBECS.
