Q: What is Bama At Work?
A:  Bama At Work is the professional development and conference services department at the University of Alabama. We are part of the College of Continuing Studies and we offer certificate programs and conferences for employees who want to boost their career.


Q: What is a certificate program?
A:  A certificate program is a non-degree program designed to provide specialized skills and knowledge. A certificate from Bama At Work, delivered by the University of Alabama, will demonstrate the achievement of a sequence of courses about a defined and specific subject. These skills are directly applicable in the workplace.


Q: What certificate programs do you offer?
A: We offer a full range of programs organized in 5 centers of excellence: Leadership (executive training), operation (project management and supply chain), organization capacity, technical/ information management and government training programs. A:  Our students can enroll in one of the following ways:

Tuition fees can be paid by check or credit card. Textbooks are included in the tuition unless otherwise specified.


Q:  Do I have to be on campus to complete a certificate program from the University of Alabama?
A:  Not necessarily. We offer on-campus classes and courses, but we also know that not every student can come to our campus. That's why we offer online courses, available to start anytime at the pace of the student. A certificate obtained online will have the same value as one obtained in the classroom.


Q:  Are any course pre-requisites required before taking a Professional Development program or course?
A:  No, our certificate programs do not require any previous courses or pre-requisites. However, programs dealing with very specific industry areas will be more readily understood with some working knowledge of the subject.


Q: I'm in the military and I want to get a certificate to prepare for civilian life. Are your programs eligible for Military Tuition Assistance?
A:  At Bama At Work, we value and honor military members and their families. Our certificate programs are compatible with the Air Force Tuition Assistance programs and MyCAA spouse tuition assistance program.
