Course Information

This workshop, designed for experienced AP Statistics teachers, will provide an overview of the topics included in the AP Statistics syllabus including the broad conceptual themes: Exploring Data, Sampling and Experimentation, Anticipating Patterns and Statistical Inference. In addition, this workshop will include curriculum design, in-class activities, use of technology, AP examination expectations and grading.  This will be a hands-on workshop.

Special Instructions

Participants should bring a TI83/84 calculator and a laptop (optional).  Experience teachers should also bring best practices to share.

Instructor Bio

Barbara Dobbs, AP Statistics Consultant, The College Board since 2004; AP Reader from 2000-present including 10 years as a Table Leader; high school math teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland since 1986; developed AP Statistics curriculum for MCPS.  Also a presenter for NMSI teacher training and student review sessions.
