The Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) with Youth and Families workshop will take place on Friday, March 9, 2018, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Bryant Conference Center on the campus of The University of Alabama.
This workshop explores solution-focused brief therapy and illustrates ways that social workers can use this approach with you and families. Specific solution-focused techniques are demonstrated through video, experiential exercises, and case materials. How to use SFBT in tier one and team approaches are also discussed.
- Be familiar with different ways to apply solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) when working with youth and families.
- Understand the change process of solution-focused brief therapy and how it can be useful to counselors, social workers and teachers.
- Increase knowledge about specific change techniques of solution-focused brief therapy.
- Be able to identify ways that SFBT can be used within Tier 1 interventions and within transdisciplinary teams.
