“Adapting Evidence-Based Psychotherapy for Autistic Individuals”

As the rates of autism increase, mental health providers are seeing an increase in the number of individuals with autism seeking mental health services to address concerns related to anxiety, depression, executive function, and social skill building. Traditional strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy often need to be modified to meet the unique needs of this population. The purpose of this half-day workshop is to discuss strategies for adapting traditional CBT approaches when working with older children, adolescents, and adults with autism.
