Overview
Join us for an insightful and impactful workshop designed to strengthen your awareness and response to potential threats. Participants will learn to recognize warning signs and behaviors that may indicate potential violence in schools before it escalates. The training explores the Pathway to Violence and provides tools to assess risk using evidence-based practices.
Attendees will gain practical strategies to manage concerns and implement intervention techniques to mitigate threats and create safer environments.
This training features a collaborative approach between mental health and law enforcement professionals, providing real-world insight into threat identification, assessment, and intervention.

Making Prevention a Reality: Threat Assessment and Management Training
Goal:
Equip participants to identify, assess, and manage threats while building an effective multidisciplinary Threat Assessment Team.

Speakers
Tesney Davis, LICSW-S
Administrator of Mental Health and Social Services, Tuscaloosa City Schools
Tesney Davis is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker–Supervisor who leads mental health initiatives for Tuscaloosa City Schools. She oversees multiple programs and serves on several advisory boards while providing statewide training and clinical supervision.
Lt. Craig Parker
Tuscaloosa Police Department
Lt. Parker is a 15+ year law enforcement veteran and leader in behavioral threat assessment. He founded the Behavioral Intervention Team and has trained hundreds of officers across Alabama in crisis response and threat mitigation.

The training will be held at University Hall Training Room, located in the heart of Tuscaloosa on The University of Alabama campus.

Cancellation Policy
A cancellation charge of 100% of the registration fee will be assessed on cancellations occurring within seven (7) days of the start of this session. Any changes to the session registration type (example: in-person to virtual or virtual to in-person) within seven (7) calendar days of the program will be assessed a $25.00 administrative fee. Refunds will not be granted after the program has begun. The University of Alabama reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or combine class sections, to limit registration, or to change instructors.
